shame the race was cancelled due to roadworks. But the Phoenix being The Phoenix we rode down anyway at 6am and got there 19.8 mph. lots slipstreaming. bit slower back after a hearty breakfast.

Hmmm,
So how was this communicated? I turned up with a few other including Grant, at 6.20 ready to race.
There was no mention of everyone having left at 6.00.
My understanding was that the start was 6.30.
No one sent me a start sheet, neither could I find one on the web site and I checked it out on the morning.
Oh well another year maybe, though to be honest I doubt there will ever be a year when 45 miles of truck road does n't have some roadworks on it somewhere.
