About Us

Off-road biking (“mountain biking” or “trail riding”) is increasingly popular, and KPRC now boasts a flourishing Trail Riders Group.

We run frequent rides around North Surrey, usually from easy-to-reach locations around Epsom.

These include regular Saturday and mid-week (Tuesday/Wednesday) morning rides, as well as evening/night rides (usually Thursdays) when the weather and season is right. Click here for more details.

Daytime rides usually have a coffee/cake stop around halfway and evening ones typically end at a pub for liquid and solid refreshment according to taste!

We also run some longer multi-day rides each year (recently to the Isle of Wight, South Downs Way, Hindhead and the Taff Trail/Brecon Beacons) and occasional trips to off-road riding areas like the Surrey Hills, Swinley Forest and the Forest of Dean.

We have contacts with other off-road bike clubs and groups and quite often share rides or are invited to join theirs. Many of our members are also involved in other clubs and groups.

Joining In

The skills level of our members is very varied, and we are happy to accommodate our speed and range to help new arrivals get used to off-roading.  A lot of our members mix road riding with off-roading as the mood takes them.

Most people will need a mountain bike (MTB), although for most of our rides a hardtail is entirely adequate – several of our riders do use full-suspension bikes.  Experienced riders may be able to ride a hybrid or cyclocross bike with us, although at least front suspension is generally advisable.

Where health justifies it, we welcome riders of e-bikes, provided they ride appropriately within the group.

For those interested, the Trail Riders group has its own shirt/jacket design, based on the KPRC colours.
